Techno-Parade in Zurich

The Street parade in Zurich is the most attended techno parade in Europe. It was first held in September 1992. Up to one million people take part in the dance festival. The main route of the parade runs along the waterfront of Lake Zurich.

The Zurich Street Parade is one of the most attended techno and dance music festivals in Europe, attracting over half a million visitors every year and with an energetic and fun atmosphere.

It’s one of the safest events of its kind, thanks in large part to a clear list of allowed and prohibited items.

Thousands of thousands of participants and spectators gather on the promenade of Lake Zurich and a procession of painted Love-mobiles with participants in inimitable costumes starts at 1 p.m. Then the main parties take place in the city (Utoquai, Opernhaus, Limmatquai, Burkliplatz, Rentenanstalt), as well as a festival of DJs. In the evening, the baton of the parade is taken over by the night clubs of the city, where the parties take place until dawn.

David Guetta recorded a show at the Louvre

DJ, producer and composer David Guetta returned to his native Paris to record a New Year’s Eve show in front of the Louvre, the most visited museum on the planet. The natural setting for the show was a deserted city, extinct because of a pandemic curfew.

“If we don’t open next summer, we can give up on a lot of artists. On all those who work in our industry, in nightclubs. I honestly don’t know if there are any clubs in France that can recover from such a blow,” Guetta noted.

The French DJ says he spent most of 2020 in Miami. The coronavirus has put his business on pause, and he hopes to restart thanks to a vaccine.

“I think, yes, we should get the vaccine,” the musician said. – I also know that a lot of people are against it, but I just don’t see any other solutions.”

The musician’s Paris show will be streamed on streaming platforms, as will most other events this special year. Guetta said he’s looking forward to lifting the quarantine, promising his fans “to perform every single day.”

Jean-Michel Jarre at Notre Dame

His light shows are known all over the world, he was one of the pioneers of electronic music. The famous French composer Jean-Michel Jarre proved once again that it is possible to be on the crest of the musical wave even at the age of 72.

Amid the pandemic and the curfew in place in France, all mass New Year’s Eve events went “off-line. One of them was a virtual concert by Jarre within the walls of the fire-damaged Notre Dame Cathedral of Paris in 2019 called Welcome to the Other Side. The unique show is timed to coincide with the release of the new album of the “laser artist” with the same name.

The multimedia concert was broadcast online on New Year’s Eve directly from Notre Dame. Physically, Jarre was in his music studio in Paris – and his avatar controlled the light show under the vaults of the cathedral, visually completely reconstructed for the occasion.

The concert is the result of the composer’s collaboration with the French virtual reality startup VRroom and the Paris City Hall.

Jean-Michel Jarre was four times included in the Guinness Book of World Records, his concerts were recognized as the most massive concerts in history.
